Physical exam of the lower extremity is complex and often challenging to differentiate potential diagnoses. During this interactive workshop, participants will learn to perform musculoskeletal exams from the hips to the ankles. Attendees will learn how to distinguish common lower extremity disorders by performing specialized exam skills. Attendees will also be guided through identifying anatomic landmarks and finding appropriate placement for various lower extremity injections. Participants will be partnered to practice exam techniques so please wear clothing suitable for proper examination of the lower extremity.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
⦁ Review lower extremity surface anatomy
⦁ Discuss common conditions of the hip, knee, and ankle
⦁ Demonstrate specialized exam techniques to evaluate the joints of the lower extremity
⦁ Perform joint aspiration and injection techniques on task trainers
