It's not just for wound repair! Adequate anesthesia for multiple applications contributes to both the caregiver's competency and the patient's satisfaction. Practitioners will learn selection of the most appropriate agent for various applications, including dose, route of administration, duration and depth of anesthesia, as well as pertinent agent-induced reactions and/or diseaserelated complications. A wide range of clinical applications from wound repair to general pain management will be discussed. In addition, participants will learn to perform regional nerve blocks in the following areas: maxillofacial/dental, hand/wrist, and foot/ankle.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
⦁ Recognize the underlying concepts in the application and administration of local anesthesia and regional nerve blocks
⦁ Utilize appropriate knowledge, evaluation and management strategies in the uses of local anesthesia and regional nerve blocks
⦁ Mitigate risks through knowledgeable application of anesthetic agents
⦁ Employ effective anesthetic techniques in: maxillofacial, dental, hand/wrist, and foot/ankle
